This program was launched by the Hanoi Department of Natural Resources and Environment, the Hanoi Fund for Environment Protection and the Hanoi Trade Corporation (Hapro) for one month, at a cost of over 1 billion dong.
Under this program, 50,000 environmental friendly bags will be delivered free or sold at cheap prices at 30 supermarkets ran by Hapro in Hanoi. The cost price of this kind of bag is 10,000 dong but it will be sold for only 4000 dong.
The program aims to educate the community about the damage plastic bags do to the environment.
