State President Nguyen Minh Triet urged Binh Duong province to develop high-tech
industries and pay due attention to remote and isolated areas while visiting the
southern locality on February 8.
To that end, the Binh Duong workforce
should develop its trade skills to meet global requirements, said the State
leader while sending his best congratulations to the province’s people on the
occasion of the coming Lunar New Year Festival.
In addition, Binh Duong
should further boost services especially in finance, banking and insurance, to
make them accountable for larger role in the province’s economy.
On
behalf of the provincial leaders, Nguyen Hoang Son, chairman of the provincial
People’s Committee, briefed Triet about socio-economic achievements of Binh
Duong over last year.
The provincial economy reportedly grew 10.3
percent last year. Despite impacts of the global economic crisis, Binh Duong
raked in 6.9 billion USD from exports in the year, up 5.8 percent from 2008./.
