traditional Tet (Lunar New Year) festival, which falls on February 14.
The Vietnamese Association in France (UGVF) hosted a ceremony welcoming
Tet in Paris with more than 2,000 Vietnamese who are working and studying in the
country.
Not only in Paris, overseas Vietnamese in other French cities
such as Lyon, Marseilles, Toulouse and Bordeauy, held New Year celebrations with
special and plentiful cultural and artistic activities.
More than 500
Vietnamese people in Switzerland gathered in Berne city on February 7 to welcome
the traditional Tet festival while nearly 700 people from southern and northern
cities of California in the US were invited to attend a get-together hosted by
the Vietnamese Consulate General in San Francisco .
Vietnamese
communities in Laos and Japan celebrated the traditional Tet with various
cultural activities and art performances.
The Vietnamese Embassies in
Italy, Thailand and Bangladesh also held new-year meetings with overseas
Vietnamese./.
