British Council begins garage sale for charity

The British Council in Hanoi is beginning the year’s second garage sale next week to raise charity funds, and people are encouraged to register until December 9 to be either sellers or buyers.

At least 20 percent or VND200,000 (US$9.52) of the proceedings from each booth will be taken for charity, beside the VND300,000 registration fee.

Items for sale are required to be at least 70 percent new, legal, and usable.

Sellers can leave items they cannot sell during the day and they will be delivered to disadvantaged people, such as to ethnic minorities in the central region.

The sale will be held on December 18 between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. at the Center of Women and Development, 20 Thuy Khue St.
