Vietnam marked its 60th anniversary of diplomatic ties with Poland , Bulgaria , Hungary , Romania , the Czech Republic , and Slovakia in Hanoi on Feb. 8.

The celebration was jointly hosted by the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations, and its Hanoi chapter and the embassies of the above mentioned European countries.

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Sinh Hung affirmed that Vietnam always bears in mind the immense support the six central European countries gave during the country’s most difficult time.

Bulgarian Ambassador Vassilev Georgi said over the past six decades the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Poland , Bulgaria , Hungary , Romania , the Czech Republic , and Slovakia have been growing to promote mutual understanding and trust.

“We realise that Vietnam has played an extremely important bridge for the ties between EU and ASEAN. Accordingly, we see we have an obligation to deepen the EU-ASEAN ties as well as the relationship between EU and Vietnam,” the ambassador said./.
