3.5m international tourists arrive in HCM City so far

HCM City Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has said that so far the city has welcomed 3.5 million international visitors, rising 12.9 percent from 2010 and fulfilling this year's plan. Of which, the number of visitors to the city by air accounted for the biggest volume with 2.65 million arrivals, up 6 percent on year. In top ten leading tourist markets to HCM City by air, taking the leading position was the US and followed by Japan and China. The city's total revenue from tourism sector was estimated to reach 49 trillion dong in 2011, rising 19.5 percent on year, of which, revenue from restaurants and hotels made up 29 trillion dong and revenue from travelling service contributed 12 trillion dong.
