Metro Cash & Carry opens new Vietnam outlet?

Metro Cash & Carry, which operates self-service wholesale stores, opened a new outlet this week in central Vietnam .
Metro Cash & Carry Nha Trang, which came into operation on Wednesday, is the third new store of the company in the country this year, expanding its sales network to 16 wholesale centers in 13 cities and provinces.
The new store has a selling space of around 5,000 square meters. It offers 25,000 food and non-food items that are 95 percent locally produced and tailor-made for businesses in Khanh Hoa Province and surrounding markets in the south-central region, the company said in a statement.
Metro Nha Trang provides direct employment to 400 people from the local community, the company added.
Germany-based Metro Cash & Carry was the first company to introduce the self-service cash and carry wholesale model in Vietnam. It opened its first store in Ho Chi Minh City in 2002.
