New passenger terminal of Da Nang airport put into use

Middle Airports Corporation (MAC) on December 15 put the new passenger terminal of Da Nang International Airport into operation.

An Airbus A321 aircraft numbered VN1307 carrying 110 passengers from Danang to HCM City was the first flight departing from the new terminal.

The VND1.3 trillion terminal has three floors and one basement and a total area of 36,600m2.

At the inaugural ceremony, Chair of the Danang Municipal People's Committee Van Huu Chien affirmed that local authorities will take strong measures to ensure security and order at the airport and in taxi operations.

Construction of the terminal was delayed many times, resulting in minister of Transport Dinh La Thang forcing its investors and construction units to complete the project by December this year.
