Las Vegas Sands plans to build a tourism complex in HCM City at a cost of more than 2 billion USD.
The plan was announced by US billionaire Sheldon Adelson, Chair of Las Vegas Sands Corporation, at a meeting with Le Thanh Hai, Secretary of the HCM City Party Committee on December 7.
The complex, designed in the shape of two sails standing on a lotus, features hotels, restaurants, convention and exhibition centres, shopping, a spa area, gymnasium, theatre, museum and other entertainment places.
Once completed, the complex is expected to become a symbol of HCM City, attracting more tourists to the city.
Hai applauded the Las Vegas Sands' idea of investing in the tourism and service sector in HCM City. He affirmed that HCM City wishes to cooperate with Las Vegas Sands in the project.
