Vietnam may import 100,000 metric tonnes of sugar in the short term to stabilise the rising local price of the commodity, Tuoi Tre newspaper reported, citing a proposal from the agricultural ministry. Half of the planned amount would be for immediate sale in the country while the remainder would be in raw form for some sugar factories, the newspaper said.
